Operation Transformation 2011: The Basics of LFF Boot Camp
By now you’ve probably heard of Boot Camp training programs. It may conjure up images of killer workouts that resemble the physical training of soldiers. Maybe you envision red-faced yelling instructors leading a cadre of supremely fit gym lovers through near impossible feats of strength and endurance. It may seem as though only the most fit among us – and those with a glutton for punishment – would survive.
Please allow us to set the record straight. At Lifestyle Family Fitness, Boot Camp is about motivation, encouragement, and FUN. Boot Camp programs provide participants with a small, team training environment to have a good time and get fit as a group.
Boot Camp combines many of the benefits of Lifestyle Family Fitness personal training and group fitness programs. Much like personal training, Boot Camp participants undergo an individual fitness assessment and benefit from a customized fitness program designed to meet their unique needs. And since Boot Camp sessions involve groups of 10, participants benefit from the camaraderie and esprit de corp often found in LFF group fitness classes.
We’re calling our 2011 Boot Camp program “Operation: Transformation 2011”. Come join in the fun, soldier!
HOW IT WORKS
Sign up. Boot Camps are offered at nearly every Lifestyle Family Fitness location. Register for Boot Camp at the Personal Training Desk or the Front Desk of your LFF club. You can sign up as an individual, or with a group of friends.
Boot Camp is a six week program. 2011 Boot Camps are scheduled for:
January 24 – March 4
March 28 – May 6
May 30 – July 8
August 1 – September 9
October 3 – November 11
December 5 – December 30
Registration is open up until the first day of Boot Camp.
Initial Assessment. We’ll begin by assessing your individual fitness level. There will be body assessments, including weight and body fat percentage measurements. There will also be a physical assessment, including a one mile run, push-ups, and pull-ups.
Don’t worry if these fitness tests seem daunting. We’ve found that the individuals who struggle the most with these initial assessments are most often those that see the most improvement and benefit from Boot Camp training.
Team Orientation. After assessing your fitness level, we match you with a group of similarly conditioned individuals. Teams are typically evenly spilt between women and men.
Our goal is to create Boot Camp groups in which each participant feels comfortable with his/her fitness level. Your Boot Camp group will become your support network, with team members encouraging and motivating one another to work harder.
Boot Camp participants often tell us one of the most unexpected outcomes of Boot Camp was the new friendships they formed with their Boot Camp team members.
The Program. Boot Camp is conducted twice a week for six weeks. Boot Camp training consists of strength training, endurance training, cardiovascular fitness training, and nutritional coaching.
A typical class lasts for a total of one hour, with 10 minutes for warm up and 10 to 15 minutes focused on core/flexibility.
Each week of the program has a main theme or focus; examples include group training day, competition day, and strength training day. Boot Camp participants are given the schedule in advance so they know what to expect when they arrive for each training session.
Throughout the program we’ll track your progress to ensure you’re improving and meeting your fitness goals.
Ongoing Training. Lifestyle Family Fitness offers Boot Camp multiple times throughout the year. Each Boot Camp training course varies so trainees can sign up for training session throughout the year knowing that each program will be different.

AS A NUJRSE, MY WORK SCHEDULE IS DIFFERENT EVERY WEEK. IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BOOT CAMP TRAINING, AND IS THERE A COST?

Boot Camp is $240 per person. Many of our Boot Camp participants opt to use their new member $150 LFF gift card toward Boot Camp training. This brings the cost down to only $90. That’s a mere $7.50 per session!

This is an awesome program! I am currently enrolled and it is getting me in shape, more than I could have ever done by just going to the gym on my own. I would recommend this to everyone and am even considering signing up for another session just to get me to my fitness goals faster.
